A visual identity framework inspired by the torn edges of traditional Japanese washi paper.
This framework was inspired by the unexpected beauty of a shōji screen torn by a cat. It explores the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, finding beauty in imperfection, fragility, and the marks left by time.
The overlapping paper forms also introduce an element of mixed media, creating layered compositions that feel both organic and contemporary.
It is particularly suited to projects inspired by Japanese culture, including exhibitions and events related to traditional crafts, contemporary art, photography, design, and culinary culture.
